Surrender to the Blender

This was originally animated in 2003, but I'm bringin' it back for 2008!

This animation got millions of views before anyone was counting. It also made international headlines and played heavily on TV and radio.

How did it happen?

Before there was YouTube, there was flash animation. Jason Kwon, a Smooth-E fan from North Carolina, decided to practice his flash skills on my parody song, "Hanukkah Hey Ya!" He never intended it to be watched. He just tucked it into a dark corner of his "file-style" website.

As you can see, he did a great job, and people found out about it whether he liked it or not. It spread like wildfire online and offline, and Jason unintentionally hipped a lot of people to my work. Thanks, J!

I love this animation because Jason captured a lot of the humor of the song. His innocent lack of knowledge of Jewish traditions makes it even funnier!
